WhatsApp New Feature Can Send Files Up To 2 GB

WhatsApp has finally released a series of new features that have been announced since last month. But there is one feature whose presence is quite surprising, namely the number of group members which has been increased to 512 people.

In its blog post, WhatsApp said one of the most requested requests they received from users was the option to add more members to the group. So far, WhatsApp group admins can only add 256 members to the groups they manage. So the capacity has been added up to double from before.

Even though it sounds abundant, the limit on the number of group members offered by WhatsApp is still inferior when compared to Telegram. As is known, Telegram groups can be filled by a maximum of 200,000 people.

This increase in the number of WhatsApp group members will certainly support the Community feature which will be launched in the near future. Apart from increasing the limit on the number of group members, WhatsApp has also released the long-awaited emoji reaction feature.

“Reactions is a fun, fast and effective tool for reducing the number of replies in a group,” WhatsApp said in a blog post. “In the future, we will continue to improve this feature by adding more reactions that can represent various expressions,” he continued.

In addition, WhatsApp has also increased the file size limit that can be shared. If previously it was only limited to 100MB, now WhatsApp users can send files up to 2GB in size in individual or group chats.

“We recommend using WiFi when sending large files. The progress will be displayed when uploading or downloading files to determine the time it takes to transfer the file,” explained WhatsApp.

These three new WhatsApp features will be rolled out gradually to all users. The emoji reaction feature will be available to all WhatsApp users in the next week, and some users are already able to access it.
