How to Leave a WhatsApp Group Without Anyone Knowing – Have you been uninterested in the conversations in one of your WhatsApp groups for a long time? Currently, when a member of a chat group leaves, the most popular instant messaging application notifies the other members. A public announcement that can be uncomfortable and even make many people give up on leaving so as not to ‘look bad’.
Well, WhatsApp has completed a new feature that allows users to leave a group without anyone knowing. Almost no one, because only the admin or some admins will receive the exit notification, not all the contacts in the group.
‘Cancel’ or ‘Leave Group’?
This was announced by the specialized portal WABetaInfo, which is responsible for filtering the latest news about the messaging application. Although this new feature is still in development and has already been seen on the desktop version of WhatsApp, it is expected to arrive on iOS and Android soon.
In this way, before leaving the group, the platform will ask us if we really want to leave, and offer us two options: “cancel” or “leave the group”. If you choose the latter, only the administrator of the chat in question will know. This is shown in a screenshot from WABetaInfo.
For now, if we want to give a ‘no’ to a group that constantly sends content, but not leave it because we would be exposed, accessing the group chat and selecting “Info” and then “Disable notifications” is the last resort. We can choose how long we want not to be disturbed by these conversations.
More improvements compared to the competition
Recently, Mark Zuckerberg, owner of WhatsApp, has been betting on providing important new features for users of the application. Also to compete with its rivals, with Telegram at the forefront.
Among the improvements implemented lately is the arrival of reactions, that is, the ability to react to messages with emoticons. To do this, you have to hold down the message until a small window appears with various emojis. A response option that other platforms such as Telegram, Slack, Facebook Messenger and even the Google Messages application have been offering for some time now.
WhatsApp has also started allowing the sending of files up to 2 GB in size, like Telegram. Which goes far beyond the previous upload limit of 100MB. The limit of 256 participants in a group will also be a thing of the past. It is now possible to increase the capacity to 512 people.
New features and improvements are expected in the coming months as Telegram progresses. For many, it is a more complete instant messaging network than the Meta app (the old Facebook) and with greater security and privacy guarantees for users.
