Instagram is currently testing a new look that makes it similar to TikTok, which prioritizes vertical videos over photos. Also, recommend content from accounts that users don’t follow.
This is done in order to reach a larger audience. Both of these policies users complain about. So Instagram stopped testing and reduced recommended content.
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, who regularly updates through his personal account, said the decision was temporary. There is still a possibility that the Instagram feed may change again in the future.
If Instagram users are still not comfortable with the automatically suggested content, there is one way to get rid of it through settings.
Launching from the official Instagram page, users need to go to settings via the three-dot icon in the upper right corner on suggested posts. The next steps are as follows:
- Select the “Not interested” option in the pop up menu that appears
- Instagram will disguise and remove related posts
- Several other options will appear, including the option to no longer accept posts from the same account
- Select the option to stop all suggested posts for the next 30 days.
Through this user response, Instagram said it would be a reflection of suggested posts in the future. So, users can’t actually disable suggested posts permanently. Only a 30 day delay and will reappear after that period.
That’s our discussion today about how to remove suggested posts on Instagram. We hope this article can be useful for you and thank you for reading.
