Many Samsung phone users accidentally activate the talkback feature and are confused about how to turn off the feature. For those of you who have the same fate, please refer to the information on how to turn off the Samsung talkback feature which we convey in the following samsungstarters.com article.
Talkback is a Voice Assistant feature that is useful for helping the blind to operate a smartphone without having to look at the screen. When this feature is activated, every touch on the screen will make a sound. Unfortunately the Talkback feature on Samsung phones does not support Indonesian.
The language used is English. How Talkback works is to tap once to highlight, then double-tap to activate the selected menu. Every touch will hear the voice of the voice assistant so it is quite disturbing for some people who do not need this feature.
For those who do not need the talkback feature, it is better to turn off the feature. There are two ways to turn off Samsung talkback. The first is going through the settings menu, then the second is using the volume buttons. So, to find out how to turn off the talkback feature in full, please see below.

The first way to disable talkback on Samsung phones is to hold down the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. Then the words Accessibility Shortcut will appear to disable Voice Assistant which means the talkback feature has been turned off.
The same way also applies to activate the talkback feature. This is what sometimes makes Samsung phone users accidentally activate the talkback feature. But after knowing how to disable the talkback feature, you don’t need to be confused anymore.

Then the second way is to go to the Settings menu. In our opinion, the method above is much easier because you only need to press the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time. But if the way to turn off the Samsung talkback button with the volume doesn’t work, then you can try the method below.
- Go to Settings Menu
- Scroll down, then select the Accessibility menu
- Then select Screen Reader
- After that click the disable Voice Assistant button
- Then a notification will appear to cancel or turn off. Please select “Turn off”.
Now that’s the easiest way to turn off the voice assistant or talkback feature on all types of Samsung phones. But for some have a different settings menu. We have tried the tutorial above on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus which uses One UI 2.5.
If your smartphone is still using TouchWiz or the old OneUI series, it’s better to try turning off talkback without the settings menu, by pressing the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously, for at least 3 seconds. Because this method applies to all types of Samsung phones.
